Take Financial Stress Out of Your Work Day
When you’re with a patient, all focus needs to be on his or her needs to give the patient the best care possible. However, when financial stress has taken over, it’s hard to put 100 percent into your patients when all you can think about is bills…bills…bills! As a result, it’s important to get your finances in order at home so that you can be a better caregiver to your patients at work.
A Fresh Start for You = A Fresh Start for Your Finances
Turn your finances around in order to be more present at work by giving the following tips a try!
First, tax season is the perfect time to give your finances the boost they need to get on a better track. Therefore, file as soon as possible in order to receive your refund check quickly and pay off debts to put yourself in a better financial situation.
Second, aim to rely more on cash and less on credit cards this year. It’s too easy to swipe for things now-a-days, which causes more and more debt to pile up. Give yourself a weekly allowance for groceries, gas and extracurricular activities. Then, once the money is gone, it’s gone until your next “allowance” day. This method can help keep you from overspending on “wants” instead of focusing on “needs.”
Third, list your debts from highest to smallest. Starting with the account with the highest balance, put as much as you can toward that debt each month until it’s paid off. Then move on to the second highest balance, and so on. But don’t forget to at least pay the minimum balance on the other cards while focusing on paying off one at a time. Missing a payment, or not meeting the minimum, can result in a lower credit score and extra fees.
