Nurses Need to Play It Stay Safe This Summer, Too! | Health Care Staffing of Tennessee, Inc.
It can’t be all nursing shifts and no play when it comes to summer 2018.
While our team at Health Care Staffing of Tennessee, Inc. wants you to have an incredible summer break when not on shift, we also want you to play it safe!
Protect Yourself From Summer Hazards
As a nurse, you are probably used to being the one giving the orders!
But this summer, we want to give you some reminders that you, yourself, need to follow to have a happy and healthy summer:
Where’s the Water?
When out and about this summer, make sure you are drinking plenty of the right fluids (such as water and unsweetened tea) to help keep you hydrated.
This rule can be used for both when at work and when at play in the sun this summer. Even just sipping on water throughout the day can make all the difference in preventing dehydration and keeping your body cooler.
When it comes to taking a dive in a body of water this summer, make sure you are not swimming alone. You want to make sure you are keeping your eyes on your children, and that you have someone keeping an eye on you, too, when out in the water.
No matter what our age and swimming ability, accidents can happen. Therefore, always make sure you have other people around you when swimming.
Cook Up a Healthy Meal
Who doesn’t want to host a summer barbecue where you can have loved ones over for a fun time with family?
However, when cooking outdoors, you want to ensure the food you cook doesn’t spoil quickly with the rising outdoor temperatures. You want your guests leaving with good memories—not food poisoning.
Therefore, make sure you keep anything that can spoil quickly (like meats, anything mayonnaise-based, dairy products) refrigerated until you need them. And once the meal is eaten, quickly move prepared foods back into the fridge for safe storage.
Health Care Staffing of Tennessee, Inc. wishes you a happy and healthy summer! On the job search? We can help.
