Finding the Balance Between Family & Nursing | Health Care Staffing of Tennessee, Inc.
Family is not an important thing. It’s everything.—Michael J. Fox
We all want to be the best we can in our careers. But does that have to come at the sacrifice of quality time with your family?
Shouldn’t we be able to have the best of both worlds? Our team at Health Care Staffing of Tennessee, Inc., thinks so, which is why we strive to offer flexibility so that you can have your nursing career and be there for your family, too!
It’s All a Balancing Act
First, you want to make sure you are establishing a schedule you can stick to on a day-to-day basis. Our goal at Health Care Staffing of Tennessee, Inc, is to offer job flexibility so that you can be there for the important moments happening in your family while also having your nursing career.
When you create this schedule, make sure you plan time with your children as well as time with your partner. You want to make sure you are spending time with all your loved ones while also having time for your job.
Second, cut out stress where you can in your daily life. For instance, rather than worrying about making dinner every night, plan (and even cook) meals every Sunday for the week so that is one less thing to stress about each day.
In addition, get as much housework and errands taken care of during one of your days off as possible so that you don’t have to worry about it throughout the rest of the week, which can end up making more time for family after work!
Finally, don’t forget to take care of yourself. In order to be there for your family and your patients, you need to be making sure you are making yourself a priority, too!
Therefore, make sure you are getting enough sleep each night, eating as healthy as possible and exercising at least 30 minutes a day most days of the week.
